We at Navigio are excited to share our recent conversation with Thomas Henriksen, who joined us as Partner earlier this year. Thomas works out of our Oslo office servicing clients all over the Nordics.

What inspired you to join Navigio as a Partner?

With a long career in consulting, I’ve had the privilege of selling, delivering, and designing numerous interventions in the talent management space, including executive assessment, coaching, search, and leadership development programs. However, in recent years, I found myself missing the critical connection between business strategy and organizational design, especially in my work with C-suite leaders. Despite working for large global consulting firms, I often felt that the comprehensive alignment between strategy, people, and leadership was lacking—an alignment that Navigio excels in. This unique capability was highly appealing when Navigio first approached me. Of course, an attractive solution portfolio is only part of the equation; at this stage in my career, I also value the importance of enjoying the people I work with. After spending a day with several Navigio team members, I knew this was the right environment for me, which played a significant role in my decision to join.

What have you enjoyed the most about Navigio since coming on board?

What I have enjoyed most is the opportunity to work closely with the exceptional team at Navigio. The collaborative spirit here is evident, and in just three months, I’ve had the pleasure of engaging with many colleagues on various projects, internal strategy work, and business development initiatives. This hands-on involvement has allowed me to immerse myself in the brand and culture that initially attracted me to Navigio. It’s been incredibly rewarding to see how our combined efforts contribute to the success of our clients.

Can you share some of your personal goals and ambitions in this new role?

I am heavily influenced by the work of David Maister (professor Harward on Professionals services) and his teaching of the Trusted Advisor. My primary goal is to build a reputation as a trusted advisor to companies and leaders looking to realize their business ambitions. Navigio offers a unique platform where I can recommend colleagues with deep expertise across multiple areas, which can significantly impact an organization’s ability to achieve its strategic goals. Additionally, I aim to play an active role in mentoring and leadership, drawing from both my successful and challenging experiences. By contributing my commercial and business acumen, alongside my passion for occupational psychology and psychometrics, I hope to support the development of a culture that fosters growth and strategic execution.

What qualities and experiences do you feel you contribute the most?

My strengths lie in a combination of commercial and business acumen, paired with a deep passion for occupational psychology and psychometrics—an area where I admit to being somewhat of a “nerd.” I believe this blend of skills will be highly valuable here at Navigio. I’m also enthusiastic about the opportunity to serve as a peer coach, supporting colleagues in their professional development. Having lived and worked in diverse environments around the world, I hope to offer insights into what excellence looks like at the highest levels. My goal is to help my fellow partners cultivate a culture that not only drives growth and strategic execution but is also deeply embraced by those who rely on us to succeed.

What motivates you ?

I am a lifelong learner and a global citizen, so the consultant lifestyle is a perfect fit for me. I find great motivation in working with large, global clients, identifying business opportunities, and designing interventions that help them succeed. Collaboration within a consultant team on large projects is especially motivating, as the shared effort leads to more impactful outcomes than working alone.

Is there a particular value or principle that guides your approach to work and life?

While I don’t adhere to a single guiding principle, I find value in the Swedish proverb “på sig själv känner man ingen andra” (in knowing oneself, one knows others). This serves as a useful reminder in both my professional and personal life.

Can you share a fun or interesting fact about yourself that your colleagues might not know?

It may come as a surprise, but I hold a driving instructor license for large trucks and have trained many drivers in winter conditions during my time in the military.

We are proud to have Thomas on our team and look forward to many fruitful years together unleashing full potentials!
